3rd and 4th Grade Families:
The month of May is an important month for 3rd and 4th grade students, as it is time for them to show off their learning!
Students will be taking two SOL tests in Reading and Math. Each test has two sections. We will be administering one section per day, for a total of 4 days of testing. Please see the general testing schedule below.
It is important that your child arrive to school on time (8:05 a.m.) on testing days, as all testing will start by 8:30 a.m.
You can help your child prepare for testing by making sure he/she is in school all day, every day from now until the end of the year.
As always, thank you for all you do to ensure your child's success.

Many of our students experienced learning loss because of COVID-related school closure. Our teachers are doing their very best to close the learning gap for all children.
When a student consistently arrives late for the school day or is repeatedly picked up early, it has a cumulative impact on the child’s access to learning.
We understand the line for parent pick-up can be long in the afternoon and that parents may want to avoid the line by using early pick-up but, the result of the loss of instructional time may be reflected in the student’s grades or low performance on assessments.
Parents can help us by allowing your student to stay in school for the entire instructional day (7:45 a.m. – 3:10 p.m.). Late arrivals and early dismissals should only be used for emergency situations.
We rely on parent support as a cornerstone of our success. We must work together to ensure daily attendance and the presence of our students for the full school day.
Thank you for your understanding.
