The NAACP Education Committee met with Dr. Jones to receive updates, ask questions, and discuss how they can support PECPS. As always, our community partners bring valuable insight and help strengthen our school community.

The last FeedMore food market of the school year is TODAY! Doors will open and food distribution will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Sports Arena. As a reminder, this event is free for anyone with a student currently enrolled at PECPS, while supplies last!

Yesterday, our bus, van, and transportation staff were treated to breakfast as part of Bus Driver Appreciation Day! 🚌💙
Students from the elementary school also shared their appreciation by creating thank-you notes! ✏️💌
Several members of the transportation department were recognized for their years of service to PECPS—thank you for your dedication and commitment to keeping our students safe every day! 👏🎉

🚨 VHSL Update: New Transfer Rule (Effective July 1, 2026)**🚨

The Virginia High School League has released important updates on 9th-grade eligibility and school transfers.

Key takeaway:
To be immediately eligible at a high school outside your attendance zone, students must either:
✔️ Attend that school’s feeder middle school for 8th grade
OR
✔️ Be accepted into an approved academy/specialty program

📌 This rule impacts future 8th graders (Class of 2027 and beyond) — current 8th graders are not affected.

Students at PECES are ready for the SOLs! Yesterday's spirit day was Ties & Tennis Shoes, today's theme was Purple and Gold!

To all Bus 53 and 58 families, Bus 53 will run a double route this afternoon. It will complete its normal route and then return to transport Bus 58 students. As a result, Bus 58 students may experience a slight delay.

Today is World Book Day! Our Eagles have access to a variety of free books in our Family Engagement Center and The Reading Eagle. We also accept gently used books to help keep those shelves stocked. As summer approaches, we will post a schedule for The Reading Eagle Literacy Bus. #EverybodyReadsVA

It was Crazy Sock Day at the elementary school today!

Prince Edward County Public Schools had an exciting time at STEM Night last week! Students and families explored a variety of hands-on activities that brought science, technology, engineering, and math to life in fun and engaging ways. From interactive experiments to creative challenges, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

We also gave away some great door prizes throughout the evening—adding even more excitement to an already fantastic event!

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make STEM Night a success. We love seeing our community come together to support learning and curiosity!

Good luck to our Soaring Eagle Step Team! They will perform today at a showcase held in Cumberland!
